WORKSHOP MINS FOR MTG 6/7/07
Report of the Workshop of the Brant Town Board which was held on Thursday June 7, 2007 at 7:30 PM, 1000 Brant Farnham Rd, Brant, New York at the Brant Senior Community Bldg.

and Bill Arlow.
Pledge to the Flag: Meeting called to order by Supervisor Pero.
Clerk verified that this workshop which is on the annual list of meeting; and was posted at the Town Hall, Brant Post Office, and Farnham Post Office , Town Crier and Town web site.
Items for Review
SW Regional Water Project: Mark and Greg presented a draft copy of the survey and cover letter for review. The Board members reviewed the draft and had comments on some of the questions and set a tentative date of July 25th at the Brant Senior/Community Bldg. for a public informational meeting on the SW Regional Water Project. Greg and Thea will have contact via e-mail so the final copy can be sent to Greg and then put on the web site also.
Park Expansion Grant: Board members reviewed maps presented by Bob Arlow of CRA and made some changes to some of the sites for parking and roadway - it was decided to invite representatives from LSYF to comment on the plans as well as the public at the board meeting on Tuesday June 12th. Supervisor Pero will present quotes at the Tuesday meeting for the millings for the walking path.
Senior Community Building: updates and discussion on presenting bids received Tuesday for the kitchen area, blinds and for the patio.
Park Playground placement: Woodson is not available for set up assistance to the Town till late August and Pero stated that Lake Shore School would dig the post holes for the Town.
Pool: Dates of operation will be announced Tuesday with a tentative date of June 24th for the Summerfest closing and then reopening on Sunday July 1st for the season through Labor Day. Supervisor Pero asked the Board members to review pool use charges. The Board hired a pool manager who will be a co director for recreation along with Vince Fininzio. She is also certified as an instructor and will hold water aerobics for anyone interested on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting Sat. July 7th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. There was mention of swimming lessons also- all will be announced Tuesday.
Recreation: The board will set pay scale for attendees, bus drivers, and lifeguards on Tuesday.
Basketball/Tennis Courts:
Sealed bids for the Tennis Court/Basketball Repairs at the Town Park at 1000 Brant Farnham Road in the Town of Brant, Erie County, will be received by the Brant Town Clerk, until 4:00 PM local time on June 7th, 2007 at the Brant Town Hall, 1294 Brant-North Collins Road, Brant, New York 14027, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of repairs and resurfacing of one tennis court and one basketball court combination at the Town Park. Specifications may be picked up at the Town Clerks Office during normal business hours.
The Town of Brant reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids.

Sealed bids for the Sidewalk Repairs on the Brant Angola Road in the Town of Brant, Erie County, will be received by the Brant Town Clerk, until 4:00 PM local time on June 7th, 2007 at the Brant Town Hall, 1294 Brant-North Collins Road, Brant, New York 14027, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of resurfacing 2112 feet of sidewalk. Specifications may be picked up at the Town Clerks Office during normal business hours.
The Town of Brant reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids.

Town Clerk Thea Ells reported that she had received no bids.
The board members discussed options for the next step to take for the courts and sidewalks.
Direct Deposit: Will be tabled for now.
Proposed Local Laws 1, 3, & 4: Are not ready to be reviewed band or to set a public hearing by the Board.
Erie County Block Grant: Pero attended a meeting where there was an announcement of a new HUD grant application but is due by June 30th.
Miscellaneous: Pero distributed invites to the Association of Erie County Governments meeting at the Brant Senior Community Building on Thursday June 21st at 5:30 PM speaker will be Thomas Whetham, Deputy Commissioner of EC Dept of Environment & Planning and will speak on Propose WNY Watershed & Infrastructure Coalition
Pero stated he received complaints of speed on Versailles Plank Road and Old Lake Shore Road and will prepare resolutions for speed reduction request to the County
Bob Reynolds announced a Explore Western New York conference which will be held September 12-14.
June 20th will be a meeting with representatives from Brant, Farnham, Cattaraugus Reservation and Erie County Planning concerning the Route 5 corridor project.
CRA would like to have a wind Power presentation to the Town.
