1) PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
At 7:30 PM a pledge to the flag was led by Supervisor Pero, and the meeting was called to order. Supervisor Pero made a short announcement to the audience: Nothing at this meeting should be taken personally; this is about a Town Board meeting making decisions in the best interest of the Town for its residents.

OLD BUSINESS:
Supervisor Pero and Attorney Trask spoke on the purchasing of the adjacent property to the Town Park and they are working with Evans National as the funding may be refunded due to grant award.
Supervisor Pero announced that the Town of Brant has been informed that the Town Park has been awarded $5,000.00 through Assemblymen Jack Quinn’s’ efforts.
Senator Volker has come through with the $20,000.00 which Supervisor Pero requested for the Community Building upgrade of windows and kitchen renovating. Senator Volker will be in attendance when we accept the check and rededicate the community building.
Supervisor Pero reviewed the items which were discussed at the forum. Brant Summer Fest, Brant Recreation, Memorial Park – public participation, committee for Town Hall, aerobic class available on Wednesday mornings, sidewalk clean – up, Versailles Plank Road from Milestrip to Route 249 to be closed for one day for resurfacing possibly next week. Pero stated that the forums give the residents and public the opportunity to ask department head questions and be involved.

ADOPTED: TO HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 13 AT 8:00 PM LOCAL TIME, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE ADOPTION OF PROPOSED FOR LOCAL LAW #4 AMENDING CURRENT JUNK YARD LAW AND LOCAL LAW #5 MODIFYING PROPERTY MAINTENANCE LAW IN THE TOWN OF BRANT.
WHEREAS, Daisy Mae Erick Winters was born August 29, 1899 in Angola, New York. In the home known as the Newton house, Chiappone Store and Loretto Glass and
WHEREAS, Daisy was the eldest of Three children born to Alice Walters and Philip Erick and
WHEREAS, Daisy met her future husband Herbert Winters at the Farnham dance hall owned by Auguste Schwert which is across from Pizzolanti’s Restaurant and
WHEREAS, Daisy married Herbert Winters on March 22, 1919 at what is now the William Friend Family residence and
WHEREAS, Daisy and Herbert had three children; Herbert Jr., Jean and Olen. All three were born and raised on the farm and
WHEREAS, Daisy has worked at local canning factories and at Pizzolanti’s in Farnham until she was 80 years old.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the TOWN OF BRANT is proud of the accomplishments that Daisy Winters has achieved during her life and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town of Brant and our residents have benefited from the great gift of knowledge that she has shared about our past and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town of Brant and our residents are happy to celebrate with Daisy and her family on the eve of her 107th Birthday and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town of Brant is proud to have Erie County’s oldest citizen enjoying her long life as a resident of our town and,
Finally, we wish DAISY MAE ERICK WINTERS a joyous and Happy 107th BIRTHDAY and proclaim TUESDAY AUGUST 29th, 2006 as DAISY WINTERS DAY in the Town of Brant. All residents should honor Daisy on this day by doing something nice for a senior.

ADOPTED: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SUPPLYING PIPE MATERIALS AND APPURTENANCES FOR THE TOWN OF BRANT, SURFSIDE DRIVE WATER MAIN with addition of for a 5% bid bond required (which is included in this edition) as follows: Sealed bids for pipe materials, appurtenances and gravel products for the Town of Brant Surfside Drive water main extension, will be received by the Town Clerk, Town of Brant, Erie County, until 7:30 PM local time on September 7, 2006 at the Brant Town Hall, 1294 Brant-North Collins Road, Brant, New York 14027, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.
Specifications and bid forms for the work are obtainable from the Town Clerk, at the Brant Town Hall, 1294 Brant-North Collins Road, Brant, New York 14027, upon the deposit of Forty Dollars ($40.00) for each set of documents (2 checks of $20.00 each). DEPOSIT CHECKS SHALL BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE TOWN OF BRANT.
If documents are to be mailed, a seperate non refundable check in the amount of Five Dollars ($5.00) made out to the Town of Brant is required for First Class Postage.
A bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid is required.
Any Bidder, upon returning the Contract Documents to the Town Clerk within 30 days, pursuant to Section 102 of the General Municipal Law and in good condition, will be refunded their deposit payment, and any non-bidder upon so returning the Contract Documents will be refunded Twenty Dollars ($20.00).
The Town of Brant reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids, which may be submitted and to waive any informality contained in said bid or bids received.
Bidder may not withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after date of opening.

8. Municipal Cooperation Resolution
Supervisor Pero reviewed a savings plan where the Town would be receiving interest as a CD but without the time restraints of a CD. The Board members discussed the program and opted to table till more review could be done. Attorney Trask will look into if the town has previously set an investment policy.

Supervisor Pero opened the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF VISITORS if anyone present had any questions or concerns.
General discussion took place about the high volume of citations given out recently and the enforcement of speed zones through out the Town.
