This Public Hearing of the Brant Town Board was held on Wednesday November 6th, 2024 at the Brant Town Hall, located at 1272 Brant North Collins Rd, Brant, New York at 6:00 PM.

The Supervisor instructed the Town Clerk to read the legal notice for today’s Public Hearing:

NOTICE OF HEARING ON THE PRELIMINARY BUDGET
FOR THE YEAR 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2025 and the required Tax Exemption Impact Report will be in the Office of the Brant Town Clerk where it is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours and can be found online at www.brantny.com.
PUBLIC HEARING for the Preliminary Budget will be held at the Brant Town Hall, 1272 Brant North Collins Rd, Brant, NY at 6:00 PM on WEDNESDAY THE 6TH day of NOVEMBER 2024.
And at such hearing, any person may be heard in favor or against any item therein contained.
Further notice is given pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law the proposed salaries of the following Town Offices are hereby specified as follows:
Supervisor $24,966.00
Councilman (4) x each $5,975.00
Town Clerk/Tax Collector $44,000.00
Superintendent of Highways $35,000.00

Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to open the Public Hearing at 6:00 PM, seconded by Councilwoman Marien. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
Supervisor DeCarlo asked those present if they had any comments, questions or concerns. No one spoke.
With no comments or questions presented, Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to close the public hearing. Councilman Muffoletto seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
Supervisor DeCarlo stated there were no other changes, except for the addition of $10,000 to the contingent account. Also, as previously discussed, he added money for the two police vehicles. Discussion regarding the interest rates. The vehicles are through State bid and we will have no other police car payments. Money will be saved by using the equipment that was installed on the two cars that are going.
ADOPTION OF THE 2024 BUDGET: Supervisor DeCarlo then motioned to adopt the 2025 budget, and was seconded by Councilwoman Brady. A roll call vote was taken: Supervisor DeCarlo-aye, Councilwoman Brady-aye, Councilman Muffoletto-aye, Councilwoman Marien. 4 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
PURCHASE OF TWO POLICE CARS: Supervisor motioned to authorize him to sign a letter of intent to purchase two police vehicles on state bid and enter financing with Ford Motor Credit for 4 years of annual payments of $13,560.85 per car. Councilwoman Giancarlo seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Supervisor DeCarlo-aye, Councilwoman Giancarlo-aye, Councilman Muffoletto-aye, Councilwoman Marien-aye, Councilwoman Brady-aye. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
At 6:14 PM, Councilwoman Giancarlo then motioned to enter executive session for personnel reasons, seconded by Supervisor DeCarlo. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
At 6:29 PM, mentioning no action was taken, Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilwoman Giancarlo. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
At 6:30 PM, Supervisor DeCarlo asked the Town Clerk to read the notice of Public Hearing for Local Law # 4-2024 (Tax Cap). The Town Clerk read the notice:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Pursuant to resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Brant, New York, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Brant Town Board in the Brant Town Hall, 1272 Brant North Collins Road, Brant, New York on the 6th day of November, 2024 at 6:30 PM Local Time, for the purpose of considering Proposed Local Law No. 4-2024 which if approved would authorize the Town of Brant to exceed the tax levy limit established by General Municipal Law Section 3-C of the 2025 budget year.
Copies of the proposed local law are available in the office of the Town Clerk. All interested parties will be given the opportunity to be heard.

Supervisor DeCarlo asked for comments or concerns. No one spoke. He then motioned to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilwoman Tish Brady. 5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.
Because the Town Board did not exceed the tax cap limit on the 2025 budget, no action was taken on the proposed law.
At 6:35 PM, Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilman Muffoletto. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays. MOTION CARRIED.
